June 6 - Washburn-Norlands Living History Center
Livermore, Maine
Game Highlights:
The great game of Town Ball or The Massachusetts Game of 1858
was put on display. The match was featured as part of the Rally for Norlands event designed to raise money and historical awareness
for Norlands. The rules were explained and the folks who participated
were divided into two teams – The Red Shirts and The Pirates. Mark Rohman captained the Pirates while Matt “The Mayor” Bray took
charge of the Red Shirts. The match was well played with the
Red Shirts immerging victorious of the Pirates. Still, everybody got a
chance to hit and everyone had a great time!

Game Highlights:
A well played second game. We started off well but the boys from
the Essex Club proved to be too much for us. Dirigo’s own Kevin “Irish” Sullivan played a superb match behind home plate and even played through a “head to chin” injury with the Essex First Baseman. Ryan “Sleepy” Sullivan also played a great game in centerfield. All in all a
great game of base ball and we look forward to future matches.

Game Highlights:
A great first game with a new club (to us anyway) – The Fitchburg Rollstones. Unfortunately, we came out on the short end with an
8 to 4 score. As this was our first game of the season we still
played well. We did have a rough top half of the first but still
played the Rollstones tight the rest of the way. This was a great
way to start a new relationship with a new club and we are
looking forward to playing them next season.
May 20 - UMaine Farmington
Game Highlights:
Mark Rohman had the great opportunity to speak to a group of UMF students in Professor Walter Sargent’s class. After emailing Walter about a chance for his students to check out a Town Ball event at Norlands-Washburn Living History Center in Livermore Maine on June 6th & 7th, Mark decided to make the trip to give a quick lecture in Walter’s class. After which the class went to a nearby field and played two innings each of Town Ball and then Base Ball. All the students participated – we even had a score keeper and an umpire. The two teams were named The Glowsticks and The Underdogs with the Glowsticks victorious in each match. Hopefully these pictures convey the fun time had by all!
